Ok so the garbage disposal froze up yesterday! Being a do it yourself guy and knowing the last time I had to replace one it cost the insurance company (which I no longer have) $800. I began my exploration of the nether world under the sink. How is this damn thing attached? Huh? what is this little tag with the model number and an 800 phone number? So I gave it a shot, worst case they would go "tough not our problem call a plumber" not the case. I got a very polite young lady that ask me what the problem was etc. and then proceeded to walk me through the steps to make the damn thing un-freeze. MADE MY DAY> 20 seconds later and we have garbage grinding tech. up and running once more... WOW!!! No more visions of crawling in the 7th level of under the sink hell working on plumbing, getting soaked and trying to tighten the leaks not to mention the dollars going out the door! Thank you customer service lady for a job well done.

~Sabbath: Don't see the size just read it :) #212 ""My name is rishabh. I'm from New Delhi. Since my childhood I've had several paranormal experiences. I always felt I could see and feel the supernatural. Being a kid, nobody believed me so I rather keep my experiences to myself and related it to those who faced similar experiences. This incident occurred when I was in Kolkata during my school days. I used to rent a flat with five other boys. The flat was a two-story building with just two houses. One was ours and the other on the second floor belonged to two old ladies who never really interacted with us. They were weird anyways. It was a huge flat with three very big rooms. I used to stay in a single room, four boys in adjacent room and the last room was given to another boy. The four boys opted to stay together in the same room. There was a dining area in the centre with kitchen opposite to it. I always found the dining area very weird as the walls were black, as if they were burnt. Three boys from the adjacent room used to work in call centres, so they arrived at 2:00am each day. That night Shantnu (the boy from their group), the last room boy and I were chatting until late night in my room and we didn't realize when the clock struck 2:00 am. The other boys (dhruv, sammarth and rana) rung the bell. Now, we had a grill at the building entrance and the flat was in the floor, so we had to go down to the ground floor to open the gate if somebody comes at night. So Shantnu and the last room boy went downstairs to open the gate for them. I was alone in the flat. Suddenly both of them came running. I was surprised and asked them what happened? They looked at me and said, ""rishabh, why did you shout so loudly and we could hear a loud sound"". I was surprised. How is it possible for me not to hear that loud sound and shout in that 2:00 am silent night? We found it very strange but ignored the incident. Days passed by quite normally, but each one of us in the flat always felt a spooky presence when alone. That day was my last day in that house. All other boys had already shifted to different places. I found a place for myself too, and it was the last night I had to spend in that house. I remember all my furniture was already shifted to the new house. All I had in the house was my double bed mattress and a pair of clothes for me to wear for the next day. It was around 12:30 am. I was speaking over the phone and lying on my mattress, which was placed on the floor as the bed was already shifted. The room door was closed (not locked). Suddenly the door opened of its own. Please bear in mind the door was a heavy wood door which cannot be moved by wind because first, it was tight. And second, it was an old age thick heavy door found in old houses. When the door opened, it moved me back. I could clearly sense somebody in the room. I kept my phone down. I was horrified by then. I could not move. I was still lying on the mattress. It was complete silence. I could hear somebody breathing. I could hear somebody walking on the floor barefoot. The sound was very clear and distinct. I wanted to move but could not. Somehow I gathered the courage to pick up the cell phone lying beside me and dialed my mom's number. I was crying and told my mom whatever was happening to me each second. My mother got to know immediately what it was and gave me the courage to fight the evil. She made me realise that power of God is always there to protect me. I always carry my God's picture in my wallet. I somehow managed to grab my wallet and take out God's picture. It gave me strength. I stated chanting the name of Lord repeatedly and could feel the energy fading. I then felt alone. Very alone. The whole night I could not sleep for a second. I continuously chanted prayers and waited for the sun to arise. Many days later, after moving from that flat, I was once passing from the same area with some of my other friends and told them about my incident. One of my friends who stays near that same flat said that it was a haunted house and the whole area knows it. It once caught fire killing a man. "" ADMIN(~Sabbath): Well i have already read this story before somewhere or someone have told me about this in real life but i cant remember it. So have nothing much to say about this and indeed it's scary story

There are only three things you need to know about a woman. #1. You have to know the truth of a woman. And this is that truth...,, Every man she has ever loved in her life has hurt her! They have abused her verbally, physically, mentally, or emotionally! Or all the above. Because if any of them had treated her right, then she wouldn't be available for you! It's not her fault she doesn't trust you! She can't! At least not yet! I know that's hard to understand so I made him read a posting that I keep on my phone. This is what it says.... If you tell her she's beautiful, on the outside she's going to smile, probably even blush, and tell you thanks. But on the inside? She's going to think.... "How"? She's going to come up with a thousand reasons why she's not. She's going to try to convince herself that your lying, or just being nice. And eventually she will succeed. She's going to continue to believe she's not beautiful. But if you stay, and keep telling her, then maybe, eventually, she might just start believing! And that means so much more than what it says.... but it's so true! At this point, most women have forgotten how to fall in Love. Remember when you were 16 and in Love! That's Love! Deep down you might know its not gonna last, but no one in the world could convince you that it's not gonna last forever! Remember how awesome that was? That's all she wants! That's all she needs! She wants to give her whole self to someone! Someone she just craves like an addiction! So how do you get her to feel that way about you? Well that's number two! #2. Make her feel wanted! All she wants from you is..... YOU! She wants you to want her! Only her! Never stop doing the things that made her fall in Love with you! Most people get lazy or content in a relationship! So they stop doing the little things. But it's those little things that build Love! A smile from across the room just because you caught a glimpse of her. Stare at her like you used to, and when she says "what", tell her how beautiful she is! I mean you tried so hard to get her... So Try even harder to keep her! It only takes five seconds to say thanks, or I Love you Babe! And you know what? Sometimes saying nothing means so much more than you could ever say! Make her feel it! Stop her mid sentence with a kiss! A real kiss! Or brush the hair from her eyes as you stare into them! Hold her hand just because you want to! And never ever forget, the more you give, the more you get back! I've Loved, and I've lost Love! And it makes me so sad to see people fall out of Love! I see so many relationships fail because people are scared! Scared of failure! They're afraid of letting themselves be judged by someone else! So when they start dating someone, it's all fake! They pretend to be someone they're not, just to impress! But then they wander why it didn't last, or what they've done wrong! I hear people say all the time, "well you've just changed". No! You just stopped pretending! And your not that person you made them fall in Love with! You never were! So I'll say that number three is probably the most important one of all..... #3. Be who you really are! Never pretend! And know this.... You can never really Love someone, if you can't Love yourself! You have to Love the heart your trying to give, If you want them to Love "all of you", then you have to give them "all of you" to Love!

This is LONG-- a note I wrote my cherished university friends as I contemplated the horrific devestation in MOORE - OK Well, DEAR FRIENDS--- Here I go with try number 4 !!! Turns out I am not so proficient on email from my phone!!! My message only got part of it sent! I spent an hour writing the first draft -- that was 3 tries and 3 hours ago!! My determination is set and I am trying again!!! I am on my way home from Montana with my dear sister friend, Ronona. We were watching the news videos of Moore, Ok. As I saw teachers gathering their students and uniting them with their parents -- I was crying again--- and thinking of each of you!!!! I have FULL CONFIDENCE --- that you will each be THAT TEACHER! I remember thinking the same thing after that terrible shooting that occurred in the school!! Teachers placing themselves in danger to protect their kiddos!!! So--- Good Morning DEAR - DEAR Dr. Kabashi & Classmates! I am traveling home from Montana from a weekend of family fun and Rodeo!! Upon getting to our halfway point in Fargo, I learned of the catastrophic event in Moore, Ok! My dad has immediate family there on his wife's side, a brother! His roof was damaged but the neighborhood across street is GONE!! Not a wall standing!! My thoughts & prayers go first to the families, teachers && children!! Then my dear ones---- I think of each of you!!! The stories of the teachers laying over their students with their bodies to shield them--- jus as I thought of you after that horrid shooting!!! I am convinced EACH OF YOU will be that teacher willing to do what they can to protect their children!! 20 sweet children have died with more missing!!!!! I am tempted , as many of you may be to say 'where are you Lord during these times? When children die?!! '. I was reminded of Psalm 91 Psalm 91 1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.[a] 2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” 3 Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. 4 He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. 5 You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, 6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. 7 A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. 8 You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. 9 If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,” and you make the Most High your dwelling, 10 no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent. 11 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; 12 they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. 13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. 14 “Because he[b] loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. 15 He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.” This Psalm doesn't mean tragedy won't occur!! Beloved!--- we are certain it will!!! When tragedy does come, where do we take our grief and sorrow?? Let us go to our Father and dear friends! My favorite verse, well -- ONE -- of my favorites, is Lamentations 3:19-21 19 I remember my affliction and my wandering, the bitterness and the gall. 20 I well remember them, and my soul is downcast within me. 21 Yet this I call to mind and therefore I have hope: 22 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I cling to this often, particularly when I am missing my sweet boy who went to Heaven before me!!! So often I think mourning may consume me--- but I repeat to myself ; because if the Lord's great LOVE -- I AM NOT CONSUMED!!! I am not!!! I can cry -- mourn-- but not because if my strength or lack of it-- I am carried on-- because of LOVE! I have shared with some of you, but want you ALL to know something!! April/May are traditionally tough, May 5 -- my LeRoy went to Heaven leaving his lil earthly body behind ( in my arms--- holding my hand through his last breath before seeing the face of JESUS!!!!--). Having each of you in my life gave me such JOY && FUN during those days!! I love you SO!! Please, dear ones, if you have any questions and want to call or text --608 385 8582 -- is my number!! You are each the teachers I will entrust my grandbabes too!!! That is not an easy confidence to come by---you can TRUST THAT!!! Hug your momma & papa -- or a good friend today!! We are blessed to live in America!! When this sort of catastrophe comes, it is not matched by the LOVE our fellow Americans will pour out!!! This am nearly 80 counties had joined MOORE & every fire department from the state had joined Moore!! I LOVE YOU! Lee

There is nothing whatever in this documentary that would justify a DMCA takedown.  And I'll add here, as we've discussed many times before, that while piracy issues are real, the lost sales figures quoted by the entertainment industry are utterly inflated and bogus, assuming as they do that each downloaded illicit copy actually represents a lost sale.  Most are opportunistic, and never would have been sales.  AT&T tried a similar approach back in the days of phone phreaks, a topic with which I have considerable (er, uh, second and third hand, of course!) experience.  AT&T tried claiming that free calls made by phone phreaks represented actual lost call revenue.  But most of those calls would otherwise never have taken place, and actually occurred in relatively inconsequential numbers over idle circuits already in place with significant available capacity. - Lauren

I showed up at the court for jury duty right around the 7:45 time specified on the sheet. I was worried that i might run into traffic and be late, but at worst i was a minute or two behind, and it didn't really matter because everyone else seemed to be getting there at the same time too, and i got to join the huge line going through security. (Going through airport style security, yet another thing made more awkward by having limited function in one hand that i didn't really think of ahead of time.)

So i signed in, heard random judge's welcoming speech (at least i presume they do that on a rotating basis and don't make the same judge do it every time) and watched the intro video, both of which emphasized how important it was to fulfill our civic duty and such. The judge in particular made a point of how important it was for us to be doing this at a time when people in other countries were attacking us because of our freedoms gag

So after that i spent most of the day pacing or standing against one of the pillars in the room. Sit me down in front of a computer at work or home and i'll stay glued there for hours, but in situations like this for some reason i can't seem stay still. (At least walking around so much hopefully burned off some of the calories from the huge lunch i had. Of course maybe part of the reason i felt compelled to eat a huge lunch was because i'd been walking around so much :) I may have been annoying the heck out of the people i was pacing in front of, but of well. The main room was divided into two halves with a wide walkway going across the middle, and that walkway was the only good place to pace without tripping over people.

I did a rough count and estimated there were about 300 chairs in the front half of the room and 200 in the rear half. It looked like about half the seats were occupied, maybe a little over. So a rough guesstimate of 250-300 people. During most of the day they let us wander out into the cafeteria or patio areas, and then every time they had an announcement they'd precede it by announcing that all jurors in the cafeteria and patio should come back to the juror room. Sometimes those announcements were a call for jurors, and sometimes it was to notify us of a break. Which was amusingly ironic, "come back to the juror room so we can tell you you don't need to be in the juror room!"

There were... six court cases that wanted jurors for our day i think, or maybe five? The first two were a ten day and seven day trial. For both of those they listed off criteria for people who were valid for those trials and those people were supposed to get in line. One of the criteria was that if you had a job, that your employer pay for at least 10/7 days of jury duty, so i got off on those. (I guess the government is between a rock and a hard place on this one. If they didn't make allowances for how many paid days of jury duty you get they'd end up really screwing employees over. But since they do take it into account the employers have even less incentive to pay for any days of jury duty.) Halfway through one of those two selection processes they got back on the PA system and emphasized that this was not a voluntary process, and they had the list of how many days of jury duty each of us got paid for, and if they had to they would start calling names, at which point they would have questions about why you weren't in line already. After that a non-trivial number of people got up and joined the line =P

A little while later they announced the first of the random selection trials. They just read off a list of names and those people had to report to the appropriate court room. There was no indication of how long they expected that trial to last. I wouldn't mind ending up on a one or two day jury, but since i had no clue i was hoping not to get called, and got lucky.

I would have had plenty of time between announcements to call the hospital and inquire about the status of the paperwork, but i decided that i ought to wait and see if i could figure out if i was going to have to do more jury duty later in the week, since that would obviously impact when i could make an appointment for. I think they did a second call shortly before the break, though i might be misremembering. Really sitting there listening to a long list of names is kind of monotonous and it all blended together after awhile.

So of course that meant that the hospital decided to call me shortly before the first break =P The person i was talking to this time was not the person in charge of referrals i'd been talking to before, so i don't know if that meant i'd been misinformed about who i was supposed to talk to, or if i'd just already been passed through the first gateway. I also have no idea if they eventually found the first set of faxed documents or if the second fax had started things moving. But in any case now that they had the paperwork they said they wanted to see me as soon as possible! headdesk

I explained that i was at jury duty and wasn't sure when i'd be off, so she said i should call back when i knew for sure, and that it might be possible to set up an appointment at one of their sister-branches closer to the court house.

So we got our first break around 10:30 and everyone came back around 11. And then around 11:45 we were told that they weren't going to do another call until after lunch, so we could all go to lunch early. Lunch ran until 1:30, so there was plenty of time to go out and get food, however i didn't really want to deal with having to come back in through security so i took a look at the cafeteria. It didn't look too bad for government cafeteria food, so i decided to eat there. I got a bacon cheese hot dog (hot dog part was good, bun was a little stale) beef noodle soup (the broth and noodles and veggies were good, some of the chunks of meat were highly questionable and did not end up being consumes) and a piece of chocolate creme pie (which was just all good =) Then i spent the rest of lunch wandering around in the main hallway be the elevators bouncing around to music on my phone and probably getting some strange looks. I would have gone out on the patio, except that was also the smoking area, so... no.

So shortly after 1:30 when we got back they did a roll call of everyone who was still supposed to be there. Unlike all the other name calls this one was not alphabetical, and my name was second from the last. I wasn't sure if that was a good omen, or if it just meant i'd just used up some of my placement luck on a totally useless ordering :) They said they had two more trials to fill, and shortly thereafter they did the next random selection, and i escaped once again. So one more to go. I did a quick head-count and saw about 85 people left. I hadn't been keeping track of exactly how many people they'd called for the previous selections. Depending on exactly how many people there were to begin with and whether there's been four or five previous calls it seemed like they were calling at least 30 people per trial, quite possible more like 40-50. (Although i also don't know if they did equal numbers of the 10 and 7 day trials and the random selection ones or not.) But in any case it didn't seem like i was doomed, but it didn't seem like i had great odds either. Then around 2:15 or 2:30 they announced that for some reason the last trial was canceled for the day or something like that and the rest of us could all go home. If they gave a more exact reason than that, but if so my mind was too busy going "score!" to process it.

So i got in line to pick up my certificate of doneness, went back to the parking garage and called the hospital. I got in contact with the person i'd talked to before and told her that we'd gotten out early and i could probably be there by 3:30, so she set me up for an appointment at 4 but said it would be okay if i got there earlier. I actually got there at 3:15, but killed some time in the car so i at least wouldn't show up any earlier than my original estimate.

So i got signed in, got called in to wait, got all my vitals taken, the usual. (The scale said my weight with clothes and shows on was 190, which makes me sad. The nurse said my BP was 120/80, which i've been told by akiko and sithjawa is almost exactly normal, which makes me wonder if i heard right. I thought my BP was somewhat high last time, since they were threatening to make me cut back on caffeine.)

So when the doctor got to see me, he took a look at my wrist, poked at it, asked how it felt, and asked me to rate the pain on a scale of 1 to 10. (cough which is something i was much more used to having shelleycat ask me under entirely different circumstances cough) I said it hurt a bit when i rotated the wrist, hurt a bit more when i raised my hand back, and hurt quite a bit more if i kept my hand level and raised my thumb, to which he took the opportunity to give the quip "well don't do that" :)

He said that given what the radiologist said and the fact that it was still hurting over a week later it was almost definitely a fracture. He said the radiologist had said it looked like there was a fracture in direction X, and possibly also a fracture in direction Y. The doctor told me that if it was a clean fracture in direction X they would just slap a cast on it and call it done. However if there was a fracture in direction Y it might lead to arthritis later in life if not handled properly.

So he's going to refer me to an orthopedist who will take a look and decide if they're just going to put a cast on, or if any bone bits need to be rearranged. Which given the scale we're talking about i'm guessing would mean cutting up my hand =P If so that means i get to have my first bone fracture and my first surgery all in one go, yay! =P

I did also ask him about the twinges in my left thumb since i was there. After poking at my thumb and asking a few questions he decided it was probably just an irritated nerve (at least i think that's the term he used?) and would probably go away on its own without treatment, so that part was actually good! Actual yay!

Software switch

Shortly named soft switch contains a database of users and phone numbers. If it doesn't have the information required, it searches other request downstream to other soft switches until it finds one that can answer the request. Once it finds the user, it locates the current IP address of the device associated with that user in a similar series of requests. It sends back all the relevant information to the soft phone or IP phone, allowing the exchange of data between the two endpoints.

Soft switches work network devices to make VoIP possible. For all these devices to work together, they must communicate in the same way.

Hail damage abounds, its been a struggle with our insurance company, Farm Bureau Insurance, with our house ANC car. Long story cut short, extremely bad customer claim service, extremely poor communications and on top of that the inability to be on time. I do have to say our agents have been instrumental in finally getting anything accomplished.

In the process of things though I came across an excellent roofing company, Covenant Roofing Services. Ricky Campbell is the owner and has been real good at keeping us updated on progress, but I have to say the the process has just begun.

Due to current weather in our area, product delivery, and consequently, the actual job, is being delayed. Totally understandable, if you're from this area you know what I mean.

If you have need of roof repairs or replacement, contact me at joel.cody@jamcody.com and I will get back to you quickly with information to get you started. Covenant Roofing can work with your insurance company to get you taken care of quickly.

Suggestions:
1. Be sure to get your insurance company to give an estimate on your roof as soon as possible.

2. Obtain several roofing contractor quotes, more the merrier! This will give you a better understanding of overall repair needs and costs. Use BBB to start your search. I only contacted those that have an A+ rating and have been in business for 10 years or more.

3. Make certain each potential company hands you a copy of their insurance and a copy of their OKLAHOMA workers compensation. Do not accept out of state worker compensation.

4. Very important! Verify number 3! I can't stress that enough. It is easily accomplished by either email or by phone. Just go to the company's website and find the contact page. In your email, be sure to include the company name and relevant account numbers. I had my email responses the same day.

5. Also very important! Make sure you do further research for each company. Find reviews, call them to have them come back out, see how they respond to communication attempts. If possible, contact previous customers for references.

6. After reviewing everything and narrowing the potentials down, make a list of questions not covered before.
Things like:
Do they have a point of contact, a project manager?
Material types available, haggle for best possible. Worse they can say is No.
Extra work that you may need done; gutters, down spouts, flashing, skylights, etc.
Material delivery types, driveway or rooftop?
How long for job completion?
Quality inspection after work is completed. This will most likely be done by your insurance company.

I hope this information, though not exhaustive, helps you on your way.

Name the top three CPU manufacturers; Intel, AMD, Nvidia? Nope!
The latest figures show that AMD fell back to a 4th place and Qualcomm and Samsung are now ranked second and third. The number five is even harder to guess: FreeScale is in front of Nvidia.

Amazing changes brought by the rise of the mobile market. Worrying as well as AMD is suffering so much on its traditional desktop market that a near monopoly by Intel is close. Looking at turn-over AMD with $3,6 billion is now at 1/10th of Intel´s CPU business.

The interesting question is if Samsung can keep it´s high position on the list when the contract with Apple ends.

Currently shipping CPU´s to Cupertino is responsible for over 80% of sales, but Samsung is selling much more phones and tablets per year. If they would exclusively use their own Exynos processors in the line-up, they could easily make up for the numbers shipped to Apple.
